The Westmalle Extra is the newest product from the Trappist monastery. It has a straw-yellow color, crowned with a medium-sized, snow-white foam. Its aroma combines malt sweetness with spicy notes. The taste begins with a malt sweetness that gradually turns dry towards the end of the sip, accompanied by hints of spice and grassy flavors. It has a moderate body and a gentle carbonation. It is an excellent table beer and it’s no coincidence that it is the daily drink of the monks.
